I guess she wanted to make sure the forms for the observatory were up to code.  We often see coyotes roaming through the yard, but this young lady was very bold and spent quite some time cruising the yard.

Coyotes here are also very healthy looking.  Some are about the size of German Shepherds and are well fed on bunnies, ground squirrels and whatever else they can catch.  This one was beautiful!

Sorry about the picture quality, I was shooting through the kitchen window while she made her rounds.  You can see the snow is mostly gone now….it has been very windy!

Not a time to dig…..

We are finished with the digging part, and just have the forms left to build for the observatory…..

Seems mother nature has other plans for us today!  This is our first snow of the season.  More to come I’m sure…..

Look up at the sky if it’s clear where you are Tuesday night.

The Moon will still be near Jupiter.

Placitas Star Party

dsc_0241a.jpgThe Big Dipper sets behind one of the Big Dobs at the Placitas Star Party held Saturday night.

It’s always a popular event with lots of scopes of different sizes and types.  The public oooh’d and aaah’d over the Moon, Jupiter, star clusters, and galaxies.

Gotta love the sky here
